Cross-Country Tour Map

Here’s the trip we are hoping to take. It’s a modified (and shortened) version of the American Cycling Association’s Northern Tier route.

  1. I am looking forward to reading this blog all summer. I think you will really enjoy Day 1. Bainbridge Island up to Port Townsend is a beautiful part of Washington State. On Day 2, make sure to stop for a photo at Deception Pass. This is the northern tip of Whidby Island as you pass onto Fidalgo Island. Finally, I think you will be surprised by the Okanogan Valley on the other side of the Cascade Mountains. It is very different from Western Washington. Best of luck

  2. i was one of the “folks” that chatted with you guys in phelps at the ice cream store. have thought about the two of you several times since then and love following this blog. i had no idea it would be so extensive. i imagine you are now down to your last few days of cycling. can’t wait to hear more. great talking to you and wishing both of you and easy transition back into city life!

    • Hi Nancee! It was great to meet you in Phelps. Yes, we will be home on Saturday and are starting to get nervous about real life! Glad you’re enjoying the blog and I hope all is well in Phelps (or Arizona if you’ve left Phelps).
